Walk through any fabrication hub in India and you will hear a familiar concern: owners want reliable machines that can support growth without carrying the high cost of European or American brands or the service challenges of cheaper imports. This gap created a need for equipment that was well built, fairly priced and backed by local service. Premier set out to address that need by understanding what fabricators require on the shop floor.
That understanding was built over decades. United Traders began supplying machine tool accessories in 1972, followed by gas regulator manufacturing from 1996 to 2005. Premier Laser was established in 2007, taking the group further into industrial equipment. Today, Premier supplies welding, cutting and painting equipment to dealers, while Premier Laser offers laser cutting, panel bending, laser welding, cleaning and pipe bending machines directly to end users. Working closely with both groups of buyers gave the team a clearer understanding of what customers needed, and this became even more important as the laser division began taking shape.
Learning From the Market
Murtaza Eranpurwala, Marketing Director, joined full time in 2011, the laser division was taking shape, and much of the early effort went into customer visits. Fabricators showed how they planned jobs, priced them and won orders, including export orders. Their expectations were clear: a machine that runs reliably, an engineer who answers and a supplier who explains things clearly. Another lesson followed. Laser equipment has to be understood before it can be sold, so product knowledge became a regular focus across the team. Those visits also helped shape how Premier would support a buyer after the machine arrived.
The answer was support that begins from day one. Every Premier Laser machine carries a 12-month warranty, while company engineers handle installation and train operators so the team can become productive quickly. Before buying, a fabricator can send material for free sampling and evaluate the cut firsthand. More than 26 cities now have service points, supported by round-the-clock on-call assistance and affordable annual maintenance contracts. The range, from Design Delite and Classic Cut to Cut Master, Fusion Cut and Spit Fire, covers a wide range of applications. All of this is focused on one outcome: building a customer relationship that continues beyond the first purchase.
Trust Built Over Time
Trust takes time, and patience remains part of the plan. Buyers return when the machine performs and the phone is still answered years after installation. The team often looks at Tata as an example of what consistent work and long-term customer confidence can build, a name recognised and relied upon by families across the country. Premier aims to build that kind of trust in industrial equipment, one installation at a time. Winning an order is only the beginning; earning the customer’s confidence for the next order is the longer-term test. That belief is reflected in the company’s mission.
The mission is to become India’s most reliable leading brand through continuous growth. The vision is to design, produce and deliver safe, efficient machine tools that help customers succeed. Daily work across procurement, research and development, testing and after-sales service follows from these objectives, with each stage checked against defined standards. When those standards are maintained, the machine on the customer’s floor performs as expected. With these principles in place, Premier is now looking to take its work to a wider audience.
The Road Ahead
The next chapter is about visibility. Premier wants its name on a machine to immediately bring quality and reliability to mind. Social media and storytelling will carry that message through real installations, customer success stories and milestones from across the country. Every post will focus on actual work, helping the online presence reflect what customers experience on the shop floor. Print media and industry events will extend the story to audiences that prefer to see new technologies and machines in person. As awareness grows, the company also needs to be prepared to support the customers that visibility brings.
That is why visibility and expansion are moving together. Service coverage will continue to widen and the technology range will continue to grow, ensuring that new customers receive the same level of support provided to those who came earlier. Honest communication remains central to this approach, as it has been through every stage of growth. The goal is to build a name that workshops, manufacturers and exporters can rely on for generations, supported by the foundation that has carried the company since 1972.
