Solar Energy Society of India (SESI) with its monthly Solar Young Achievers Felicitation Webinar Series inspire youngsters to embrace and innovate the technology and the future of renewable energy. On 1st March 2021, the third edition of the felicitation program will be organized to honour Neha Sharma from Delhi for revolutionizing the technology of street lights.

Neha has developed a four feet long Solar Street Light Pole with an inbuilt battery. This 48V 18Ah LFB Battery is concealed inside the solar street light pole for better protection against the environment and theft. It also removes the additional cost of the battery making the manufacturing process more affordable.
Neha Sharma completed her graduation with a BTech degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering. She is the co-founder of Vijanata Private Limited an MSME, based at New Delhi, which is recognized as a leading manufacturer of Electric Vehicles batteries (E-Bicycle, E-Scooter, E-Rickshaw, etc.), Medical Device Batteries, GPS, Solar Street Light Batteries, etc. She is also the State President of Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry – Delhi Manufacturing Council.

The event will be hosted and moderated by Dr S M Ali, Vice President of Solar Energy Society of India. President of Solar Energy Society of India, Prafulla Pathak will be delivering the Keynote Address. Dr Mayilvelnathan Vivekanathan – Professor of Mohamed Sathak Engineering College, Solar and Thermal Storage Specialist – will be the chief guest of this program. He will do the honour of felicitating Neha Sharma in the presence of SESI President, Prafulla Pathak and the Vice President of SESI, Dr. SM Ali as the moderator.
The first edition featured Vinisha Umashankar, a schoolgirl from Tamil Nadu who invented Solar Iron Box and received many appreciations worldwide. The second edition featured Rohit Bhattacharjee from Assam, who during the lockdown not only upcycled LED bulbs but, also took his entrepreneur journey by starting a manufacturing unit in his home town.
