- Indo Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Italian Embassy in India to organize a series of webinars aimed at strengthening economic partnership

Indo Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) and Embassy of Italy in India have joined hands to organize a series of webinars to strengthen the economic ties between India and Italy and boost partnerships in the industrial machinery and manufacturing sector. Italian associations AMAPLAST, UCIMU, financial institutions SACE and SIMEST, Invest India and Indian sector associations such as ACMA, AIPMA and IMTMA will also collaborate with the events. Machine Maker, India’s topmost media platform for manufacturing will be the official media partner for the event.

The series will start with the first webinar titled ‘MAKE IN INDIA with ITALY – Italian Technologies, Machinery & Know-how for the Indian Manufacturing Growth’ on 16 February 2021 from 4.30 pm IST. Amit Roy, President of IICCI will deliver the opening remarks followed by the address of His Excellency Vincenzo de Luca, Ambassador of Italy to India, Italian Embassy in India, and Priya Rawat, Vice President, Invest India. The event will be moderated jointly by Claudio Maffioleti, Chief Executive Officer & Secretary General of IICCI and Hari Shanker, Managing Editor of Machine Maker.
The webinar will introduce the participants to the opportunities for industrial collaborations, technological innovation and financial tools available to the Indian and Italian companies. The panel of speakers from Italian and Indian associations and companies will speak on technology, investment, policies, joint ventures, commercial collaborations as well as opportunities in the Indian market.

The first session “Associations, Financial Bodies and Agencies with Presence & Operations in India” will be moderated by Session Chairman Claudio Maffioletti, CEO and Secretary General of IICCI. Key Italian stakeholders Alfredo Mariotti, General Manager UCIMU – Sistemi Per Produrre, Mario Maggiani, General Manager AMAPLAST, Marco Ferioli, Head of SACE Hong Kong & APAC Region, and Carlo de Simone, Servizio External Relations, SIMEST SpA will be the speakers of the first session.
V Anbu, Secretary, Director General & CEO of Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (IMTMA), Arvind Mehta, Chairman AIPMA Governing Council of All India Plastic Manufacturers Association (AIPMA), and Vinnie Mehta, Executive Director of Automotive Components Manufacturers Association (ACMA) will talk in the second session “Best Strategies For Italian Technology Providers In Approaching Indian Market” which will be moderated by Session Chairman Hari Shanker, Managing Editor, Machine Maker.
Giacomo Bigolin, Managing Director of BBM Heavy Machinery India Private Limited & CEO, BBM Officine SpA will share his experience about investing by an Italian company in India, and Ramesh Gehanay, Executive Director and CEO of Endurance Technologies Limited will share their experience of purchasing Italian machinery.
Italian Technologies for Indian Manufacturing
India and Italy share a long bilateral trade relationship. Italy is the third-largest economy in the EU after Brexit and is currently the fifth-largest trading partner of India in the EU. As per the report, the bilateral trade between the two countries was worth 9.52 billion Euros in 2019. India and Italy have signed the five-year Bilateral Economic Partnership for 2020-2025 which is focused on food, health, railway infrastructure, green economy in various forms, and most importantly advanced manufacturing.
