Klüber Lubrication, a global leader in specialty lubricants, is taking center stage at the India ComVAC Show 2023, an International Expo for the Growth of the Indian Compressor and Vacuum Industry (3rd Edition) on December 14th to 16th, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, showcasing innovative solutions that protect and optimize the performance of compressors. With a focus on reducing downtime and enhancing productivity, Klüber Lubrication’s comprehensive range of lubricants underscores its commitment to a healthy and sustainable future.
Compressors contribute extensively in various applications, subject to extreme speeds, temperatures, and pressures. Selecting the right compressor oil is paramount, not only for the initial fill but also for regular oil changes. Klüber Lubrication’s synthetic lubricants, crafted from carefully selected base oils and special additives, are designed to meet the unique demands of compressors, ensuring trouble-free operation and extended service life. Rotary vane and screw-type compressors face challenges like oxidation residues at high temperatures, leading to varnish build-up on critical components. Klüber Lubrication’s synthetic lubricants prevent oxidation residue and sludge formation, contributing to extended compressor life. By keeping the entire system clear, these lubricants minimize unwanted downtime and expensive repairs, ensuring optimal performance.
Klüber Lubrication proudly retains the EcoVadis gold medal in 2023. EcoVadis gold medal, awarded to only the top 4% of rated companies globally, highlights Klüber Lubrication’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprints and enhance the handprints while actively helping customers in achieving sustainability goals. Klüber Lubrication’s manufacturing plant in Mysore, India, is the where all its sustainability initiatives take place. Over 55% of the plant’s energy comes from renewable sources, with solar panels on the roof harnessing the region’s 300 sunny days. This initiative significantly reduces emissions, showcasing Klüber Lubrication’s initiatives towards reducing carbon footprints and increasing the environmental sustainability for their consumers.

Hitendra Bhargava, CEO and Regional Management Board Member Asia Pacific at Klüber Lubrication, says, “With 300 sunny days in Mysore, our photovoltaic system will reduce smog-causing NOx emissions by 3.5 tons, SOx emissions, which could result in acid rains, by 3.2 tons and also decrease asthma-causing particulates by 0.2 tons. In addition, the project will reduce CO₂ emissions by roughly 1,110 tons, equivalent to more than 88,000 trees. Where Klüber really shines is in helping their customers be more sustainable through the use of their longer lasting and higher performing lubricants, thereby reducing waste, improving productivity and reducing energy consumption.”
Two key products from Klüber Lubrication, the Summit SH 46 and SH 68 oils, are at the forefront of its vision to reduce overall oil consumption. Specifically designed for highly loaded, oil-injected screw-type compressors, these oils offer extended oil change intervals of up to 10,000 operating hours. The oxidation stability of these synthetic oils minimizes residues, ensuring a clean compressor system and enhancing the efficiency of oil filters and separators. The Summit PS 200 series, semi-synthetic air compressor oils, is another innovation offering oil change intervals of up to 5,000 operating hours. Neutral towards elastomer seals, these oils provide excellent oxidation stability, extending the life of oil filters and separators while maintaining compressor cleanliness and efficiency.
Klüber Lubrication’s Summit Varnasolv presents an effective and time-saving solution for cleaning compressors. In oil-injected screw-type and rotary vane compressors, mineral oil-based compressor oils can lead to lacquer-like residues and carbon build-up. Summit Varnasolv, a fluid cleaning concentrate, dissolves these residues during operation, reducing downtime, maintenance costs, and energy consumption. Klüber Lubrication’s upgraded recycling program, currently in global pilot schemes, aims for a comprehensive rollout by 2025. By streamlining the recycling process through an online portal, the company empowers customers to contribute to sustainability goals while gaining insights into the environmental impact of their recycling efforts.
