Recognized as a communication channel between the manufacturers and the market, Expos and Exhibitions appear fair in the industrial speculations, along with being a value chain enhancer
IMS 2021 which spread across a 20,000 square meters area and attended by over 500 exhibitors, 20,000 business delegates, and 150 experts from different PSUs and Industries, brought about the reunion of different manufacturing leaders at both the national and global levels. Providing the stage to the domestic as well as international level, the expos are breeding to an excellent win-win situation for both the manufacturers as well as government.
As showed in the efforts behind the collaborations and MoUs, the sector-specific expos and exhibition has resulted in the high fragmentation of the manufacturing scenario in the country. Emerging as a new trend, manufacturers and suppliers now are eager to show their high-tech tools and machines in the exhibitions, highlighting what value they will add to industrial growth.
Going through the Expos which were recently held, it can be said that all the R&D work which was considered as the tool of the large manufacturers, is also strived to be harnessed by the local manufacturing ecosystems. Committed to the “Make in India, Made for the World” theme, IMS 2021 event consisted of the exhibition, international conference followed by vendor development program. IMS 2021, which was cooperated with the Laghu Udyog Bharati Udyog was supported by Karnataka government and the NSIC in its fifth edition which took place at Bengaluru from September 27 to 29.
Indian Manufacturing Show 2021, which was based on the MSME Aerospace and Defence Expo witnessed the grand participation of around 1,000 industries and the PSUs, along with 300 international players from top manufacturing countries.
Proving to be a platform for engineering and manufacturing sectors, the event was vivified by the presence of Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, Sajjan Jindal, CMD, JSW Group, Vikram Kirloskar, Vice Chairman, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, P Ramadas, MD, ACE Manufacturing System Ltd and B C Datta, VP, Corporate Affairs, Hyundai Motors India.
The manufacturing sector, which has undergone victimization by post-pandemic trauma is now, demanding a fast-paced recovery in terms of both, economy and production.
The subsequent events were the buyer-seller meet, CEO leadership conclave, and policymakers round table meeting.
The event ended with the Interlinx B2B meetings and award ceremony, which were aimed to provide partnering software solutions to the business delegates to maximize business opportunities.
The key market trends which are seen in the Auto components, Automation and Robotics, Electronics Industry, Industrial Engineering, Mining Metallurgy, and their tidal behavior due to post-pandemic trauma were under scrutiny.
Over the years, with the global presence across 20+ countries, IMS gave platforms to more than 500 exhibitors and 100 startups. Having conducted around more than 30 sessions and workshops, IMS has evolved as the kind stage for the PSUs, MSMEs, and startups looking for business opportunities in the Industrial sector.
Culminating International manufacturing solutions
The collaborating industrial players were Karnataka Udyog Mitra and NSIC. The event had an association also with the AHK Indo-German, which is the largest bi-national German foreign chamber of commerce as well as the largest chamber of commerce in India.
Partnering with an association that provides business solutions to the companies which are willing to set up the business bridge between India and Germany, IMS 2021 also empowered the Indo-German cooperation which has gained a huge pace recently in the manufacturing ecosystem.
As reflected in the thoughts of the corporate leaders, only the manufacturing sector can provide the base for over a hundred million jobs that are to be created.
“It has been a great exhibition of MSME and the large enterprises and a good opportunity for all the MSME industries to showcase their strength,” said P Ramadas, MD ACE Manufacturing Systems Ltd.
Tarnishing the Pandemic’s Hault
After post-pandemic conditions posed a huge impact on the MSMEs, it came out of great importance to incentivize the MSMEs that are India’s spine in terms of Industries.
Being one of the most Dynamic Industrial sectors contributing to the Indian Economy, MSME owns about 35 percent of India’s manufacturing output.
On the other hand, the Defence and the Aerospace Sector which has a supply chain as backbone indirectly procure the industrial growth of the MSMEs.
The IMS 2021 primarily focused on the International MSME subcontracting exhibition for Aerospace, Aviation, Defence, and Space Technologies.
Organized at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), which is the commonly used centre for the industry exhibition, product demonstration, conferences, and training programs of international quality, IMS has endeavoured more towards the 5 trillion dollar economy goal under the self-reliant vision of the Indian manufacturing sector.
The changing needs of the customers and the strategic shift in the market trends which were a major challenge in the paradigm are now a left-hand game for the exhibitors. The expos and exhibitions, if analyzed will be found to boost the economic activities in the manufacturing sector.
