The Association of German Die Casting Foundries (VDD) and the EUROGUSS trade fair are proud to announce the return of the European Die Casting Competition, building on the success of the 2022 event. Supported by industry organizations including the Bundesverband der Deutschen Giesserei-Industrie e.V. (BDG), Aluminium Deutschland e.V. (AD), and the Europäische Forschungsgemeinschaft Magnesium e.V. (EFM), this competition serves as a showcase for the diverse applications, innovative prowess, quality standards, and overall performance of the die casting process in materials such as aluminum, magnesium, and zinc.
From January 16th to 18th, 2024, the 23rd Die Casting Conference will be hosted by the Association of German Die Casting Foundries (VDD) and the Federal Association of the German Foundry Industry (BDG) at the EUROGUSS trade fair in Nuremberg. This conference serves as a compelling platform for EUROGUSS trade fair exhibitors, die casting foundries, suppliers, universities, institutes, and die casting users to showcase emerging technologies, advancements in processes and materials, explore new application areas, and participate in discussions with industry experts. The Die Casting Award Ceremony will be an integral part of this conference.
Entries into the competition are categorized based on materials, and a thorough evaluation takes place considering factors such as innovation, quality, economic efficiency, resource-efficient design, and degree of difficulty. Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries in each material category. An expert jury comprising professionals from both research and practical fields will conduct the evaluations, and the award ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, from 11:45 to 12:30 in the St. Petersburg Room, NCC Ost.
