Covestro is participating in PU TECH India 2025, one of the leading trade fairs for the polyurethane industry, taking place from 9 to 11 April at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The event will gather industry leaders and stakeholders to explore the latest polyurethane product and process technologies advancements.
Covestro is exhibiting at Hall N1, Booth A18, presenting its cutting-edge materials and solutions supporting its vision of achieving a circular economy. Climate neutrality is Central to this vision, with Covestro recently setting ambitious targets to reduce Scope 3 emissions by 30% by 2035 and become fully climate neutral across all scopes by 2050. These targets encompass the entire product lifecycle, from sourcing raw materials and production processes to transportation, product performance, and end-of-life management.
“As a global leader in polyurethane raw materials and solutions, Covestro is dedicated to advancing circularity and climate neutrality. We are committed to pioneering innovative recycling technologies, transitioning to renewable energy sources, and adopting more sustainable raw materials—without compromising on the quality and performance of our products,” says Thomas Braig, Head of Elastomers at Covestro. “At PU TECH India 2025, we look forward to demonstrating how our comprehensive approach to circularity, innovation and performance supports our customers in meeting market demands and achieving their sustainability goals and business growth.”
Under the motto “Crafting Solutions For You”, Covestro’s booth will be showcasing various solutions around three core thematic topics, each emphasizing a different aspect of the company’s commitment to sustainable innovation:
Crafting Sustainability at PU TECH India 2025
For the topic “Crafting Sustainability”, Covestro will showcase innovative products and solutions from alternative raw materials, innovative recycling and renewable energies that pave the way to circularity. These exhibits will highlight Covestro’s pioneering efforts to develop more sustainable solutions and
promote circularity. A key exhibit will be the groundbreaking sustainable footwear technology that is reshaping the future of shoe manufacturing. Featuring Covestro’s revolutionary mono-material sneaker concept, made entirely from 100% recyclable TPU and enhanced with bio-based Desmopan® CQ, these sneakers combine premium comfort and durability without sacrificing style.

Under ”Crafting Innovations,” Covestro demonstrates how innovative materials address demanding market needs. The Baydur® polyurethane composite frames for photovoltaic modules offer superior corrosion resistance. As a non-metallic insulator, it reduces potential-induced degradation, improving module efficiency without grounding needs while cutting carbon footprint by 85%1 versus aluminum.
Additionally, the Baypreg® STM battery cover for NEVs achieves a 60% weight reduction compared to steel and has enhanced anti-corrosion and insulation properties. These developments showcase Covestro’s expertise in creating market-driven material solutions.
Covestro is committed to providing high-performance solutions that are also more sustainable: circularity won’t happen unless sustainable products offer at least equal value and quality for customers and industries. In that respect, the company will exhibit several cast polyurethane parts made with Vulkollan® at the booth. On top of reducing maintenance costs in the automated logistics industry, these cost-effective and safer solutions can also improve safety and comfort in the railway sector, for example, or boost the sewing process in the loom shuttle.
Covestro is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality polymer materials and their components.
