At Refcold 2024, Copeland, a prominent name in sustainable climate solutions, presented its latest advancements in refrigeration and monitoring tailored for sectors such as dairy, seafood, commercial farming, food retail, quick-service restaurants, and pharmaceuticals. This leading event in India’s cold chain and refrigeration industry focused on the theme of safeguarding food through innovative technologies.
With nearly half of the 1.3 billion tons of food wasted globally each year potentially preventable with fully refrigerated supply chains, Copeland showcased its scroll inverter solutions designed to support solar-powered cold rooms.
These solutions enable remote farms with limited grid access to protect their produce effectively. Additionally, Copeland emphasized its commitment to local manufacturing under the ‘Make in India’ initiative and introduced advanced vapor injection technology aimed at helping customers in dairy, seafood, and food retail achieve greater energy efficiency and operational savings in tropical climates.
As part of its exhibition, Copeland launched its new ZB refrigeration scroll compressor technology, which boasts an average efficiency improvement of up to 8% compared to existing models, along with enhanced reliability for medium and high-temperature applications. This next-generation compressor technology enables Indian customers to upgrade their systems for superior seasonal energy efficiency.
Sandeep Gupta, Vice President and Managing Director of Copeland India, stated, “Enhancing technological standards is fundamental to our operations. Copeland is at the forefront of protecting essential goods, particularly food and pharmaceuticals, through efficient and sustainable cold chain solutions. Our recent investments in India and our participation at Refcold 2024 underscore our leadership in advancing refrigeration technologies for our customers in this region.”
Now in its seventh year, REFCOLD, organized by the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), brought together industry stakeholders to tackle significant challenges and explore opportunities within the food sector. Copeland led discussions on the specific needs of India’s cold chain market and served as the main sponsor of the annual Refcold Awards, recognizing exceptional contributions and innovations in India’s cold chain solutions.
