Drive technology solutions are a critical part of almost any industrial process and NORD Drive Systems Private Limited, a 100% subsidiary of Germany based NORD GmbH & Co KG, is reckoned as the preferred partner of Indian industries for bringing the motion to their machines.
Starting its journey in 2005 in Pune, the company is a leader in manufacturing and supplying a large range of motors, drive solutions, frequency inverters, and industrial gear units for mechanical and electronic solutions. P L Muthusekkar has been steering the company as its managing director since November 2011. With his long experience from the manufacturing sector and proven ability, he has taken NORD India to new heights within a short period of time.
Machine Maker spoke to Mr. Muthusekkar, in connection with their recent strategic manufacturing expansion in Pune, covering an area of 3,500 square meters, the third within 14 years, discussed NORD’s recent expansion and its future plans.
The recently made expansion is an operational shed adjacent to the existing factory. This brings the total operational area of NORD India in Pune to 9,000 square meters. If office space and open space are included, then that estimate rises to between 14,000 and 15,000 square meters
