The main principle behind Earthing is that it provides a conductive electric path for the excess current to flow to the earth which is why the process is called ‘Earthing’.

In conversation with Jaikumar Belsare, the founder of Yash Earthings Solutions Pvt Ltd, Machine Maker learns about the challenges and achievements of the company to become a major player in the electrical industry.
Starting from the Ground-up
Completing his Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur, Jaikumar went on to complete his Master in Business Administration from the same college. He spent his first couple of years in an IT company. But his heart brought him back to the electrical industry, and he started working for True Earthing Solutions.
Working in the Earthing industry for some years, Mr Belsare decided to start his own Earthing Company. For the first six to seven months, Mr Belsare faced problems related to funding, employees, accounting, sales and material purchase. But they overcame these problems and started its production forcefully from January 2019.
Yash Earthing Solutions initially started their business with products such as copper earthing electrodes, GI earthing electrodes, copper bonded rods, backfill compounds. The company started with four to five workers apart from Mr Belsare himself.
Teething Troubles with Covid Pandemic
After a year of smooth and successful operations came the Covid-19 pandemic. Like the entire manufacturing sector, Yash Earthing was significantly affected by the lockdown. They found a new opportunity during the pandemic.
Mr Belsare said, “During the pandemic, earthing was compulsory to set up a Covid 19 hospital. And hence we started supplying to these hospitals, which assured us a steady growth during this period.” Mr Belsare came up with strategies during strict lockdowns. He asked all his workers to work from home and collect data that will be useful for the company in the upcoming days. People right from dispatch to accounts extended a helping hand in this work.
Expanding Horizon in Electrical Sector
The company has expanded from its humble beginnings and now employs over 150 to 200 workers. “I have myself dug pits required for earthing. No work is small- One should never hesitate or feel shy to work on the ground level,” said Mr Belsare. The company has expanded into more innovative products such as earth pit cover and lightning arrester.
Earth pit cover is made up of PVC plastic and one of its biggest advantages is its ease of installation and opening. Further, the Earth pit cover is free from fire problems and corrosion. Lightning arrester is compulsory nowadays for high rise and commercial buildings. It is in accord with the standard IEC 62305. Yash Earthing supplies the best quality of products to its customer.

The company also has an international presence with a large number of customers across countries like Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, Nepal, Bhutan in the field of the electrical industry, traders for electrical suppliers, industrial turnkey projects.
Future Outlook
The company is looking forward to expanding by setting up a galvanizing plant within a year and a copper bonding plant within a month. This will improve the quality of products in terms of rusting and life longevity.
