Zypp Electric Expands EV Fleet with 100,000 Vehicles, Strengthens Partnership with Indofast Energy

Zypp Electric, India’s leading EV-as-a-service platform, has announced plans to deploy 100,000 electric two-wheelers (E2Ws) over the next 12-18 months in collaboration with Indofast Energy, a joint venture between IndianOil and SUN Mobility. This expansion builds upon Zypp Electric’s existing fleet of 10,000+ EVs that already leverage Indofast Energy’s battery-swapping network. With this initiative, the companies aim to accelerate large-scale EV adoption and revolutionize last-mile logistics across key Indian cities.

Zypp Electric has set an ambitious target of achieving 100% electrification by 2028, and this latest deployment is a major step toward that goal. The company plans to scale from 20,000 to 100,000 vehicles in the next 12-18 months, followed by a fivefold increase to 500,000 EVs over the next 3-4 years. This initiative will drive sustainable last-mile logistics, significantly reducing carbon emissions and enhancing operational efficiency.

The new fleet will be deployed across India’s top eight cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, and Jaipur. Indofast Energy’s advanced battery-swapping stations will play a crucial role in supporting this large-scale rollout. With a 60-second battery swap technology, riders can eliminate charging downtime, ensuring uninterrupted operations for delivery partners and businesses.

In cities like Delhi NCR and Bengaluru, Indofast Energy has established a dense network of swap stations every 1.5 km, offering delivery riders easy access to battery replacements. This strategic placement helps maximize driver productivity, minimize operational stress, and reduce range anxiety.

Speaking on the announcement, Tushar Mehta, Co-founder & COO of Zypp Electric, stated:
“Our mission is to redefine last-mile logistics with sustainable, cost-effective EV solutions. This expansion will not only solidify our leadership in India but also propel us into global markets, including Southeast Asia, the Gulf, and Africa. Our strengthened partnership with Indofast Energy will be key to ensuring seamless EV operations across urban centers.”

Rajat Malhan, Senior Vice President of Indofast Energy, added “This collaboration is more than just expanding a fleet—it’s a revolution in urban mobility. The deployment of 100,000 battery-swappable EVs underscores our commitment to electrifying India’s logistics landscape. Together, we are creating a cleaner, greener future while improving the lives of delivery partners.”

With its expanding presence in India, Zypp Electric is now setting its sights on international markets. The company aims to become a global leader in EV fleet services, catering to the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions worldwide.

Indofast Energy also has ambitious plans, aiming to serve over one million EV users by scaling up to 10,000 battery-swapping stations across 50+ cities within the next three years. This expansion will provide a viable alternative to conventional charging, reducing concerns related to battery costs, maintenance, and replacement.

Founded in 2017, Zypp Electric is India’s leading tech-enabled EV-as-a-service platform, committed to zero-emission last-mile delivery. The company operates over 22,000 IoT and AI-enabled EVs, catering to e-commerce, grocery, medicine, and food delivery sectors.
