On September 30, 2024, Zoomlion introduced the ZTE520, the largest hybrid electric drive mining truck ever built, marking a major leap forward in mining technology. Measuring over nine meters wide and seven meters tall, this truck has a massive payload capacity of 300 tons and a total weight exceeding 520 tons.
Powered by a state-of-the-art hybrid system, the ZTE520 combines a 16-cylinder, 52-liter, 2100-horsepower diesel engine with the industry’s largest hybrid battery. This combination allows for 15% energy savings while ensuring a lifespan of more than 60,000 hours, blending power with remarkable energy efficiency.
Designed to integrate smoothly with Zoomlion’s large mining excavators, the ZTE520 is ideal for high-capacity open-pit mining operations with annual outputs of over 30 million tons. This partnership boosts operational productivity and aligns with green mining goals. Zoomlion independently develops and manufactures all key components for the ZTE520, ensuring supply chain reliability and reducing costs for users.
Yuan Ye, assistant president of Zoomlion, highlighted the significance of the launch: “The ZTE520 demonstrates our dedication to advancing technology. The unveiling event saw attendance from over 200 guests, including key executives such as Huang Qun, vice president of the company, and Liu Haitao, deputy general manager of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute.
