ZF Group has secured three significant orders for testing systems focused on powertrain and tire manufacturing in India, marking the company’s formal entry into the Indian powertrain and next-gen mobility market. These multi-million euro contracts, announced on August 7, 2025, will support clients with a national presence across India’s automotive sector.

The orders include India’s first 440kW transmission test bench, several tire research and development benches for a major tire producer, and three end-of-line testing systems for passenger car tires for another leading Indian manufacturer.

The transmission test bench is equipped with a 3E dyno configuration that eliminates the need for intermediate gearboxes, minimizing energy losses. The design features a direct shaft connection to the device under test, while the movable dyno system offers flexibility with horizontal adjustments, allowing the testing of different equipment types.

The tire testing equipment includes rolling resistance testers, along with endurance and high-speed testers for passenger cars and two-wheelers in various setups. The end-of-line test benches are fully automated systems used at the final stages of production to ensure the quality of tires before they leave the production line.

“We are thrilled to bring our state-of-the-art testing technology to India. These orders not only set a new standard in the industry but will also serve as a benchmark for future initiatives in the region. This partnership underscores our dedication to innovation and excellence in automotive and industrial engineering,” said Akash Passey, President of ZF Group India.

These contracts further enhance ZF’s footprint in India while contributing to the country’s vision for safer and more sustainable mobility solutions. ZF is introducing a new range of mid- and large-sized powertrain benches, tire R&D testing equipment, as well as low-speed uniformity and balancing test systems tailored specifically for the Indian market.
