ZF Tech Day: Shaping the Future of Intelligent EVs with Leapmotor

ZF Tech Day took place at Hangzhou Xintu Building, hosted by Leapmotor, where ZF showcased its most advanced products across four key technology domains: vehicle motion control, automated driving, e-mobility, and integrated safety. The event highlighted discussions about the future development of intelligent EV technology and how ZF can leverage its expertise and global team to support COEMs in expanding overseas.

ZF and Leapmotor officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement on June 20, 2023, focusing on the development of intelligent chassis for passenger cars. The collaboration aims to create innovative intelligent chassis products that combine smart and electric dual drive systems, leading the way in technological innovation for new-generation electric vehicles.

As a global technology leader, ZF offers a wide portfolio of products and extensive system integration experience. Leapmotor, a Chinese new energy vehicle company, is known for its technology-driven approach, focusing on independent R&D and rapid product iteration. The partnership between ZF and Leapmotor is committed to delivering a more personalized, intelligent, comfortable, and safer driving experience to consumers.

Shu Chuncheng, Vice President of Supply Chain at Leapmotor, also attended the tech day, underscoring the company’s focus on rapid R&D and market expansion. Among the technologies showcased were it’s second-generation Integrated IBC, EPB, and 4-in-1 eRE Plus, as well as Leapmotor’s B10 model featuring ZF’s IBC, which made its debut at the Paris Motor Show in October and was displayed at the Guangzhou Motor Show in November.

During the tech day, ZF experts discussed the latest advancements and future trends in intelligent chassis technology, including world-leading solutions like SbW, future braking technology, Co-Axial Reducer, CIPB technology, chassis component technology, vehicle motion control solutions, zero-gravity seat safety systems, and AI applications on small computing power platforms. The results of the collaboration across various technical fields such as intelligent chassis and e-mobility were also showcased, reflecting the shared vision and confidence in the future of intelligent EV technology. Going forward, the company and Leapmotor will continue to deepen their cooperation, driving innovation and development in intelligent EV technology to provide a safer, smarter, and greener mobility experience for global consumers.
