ZF Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS) India, a global leader in automotive safety technologies, has launched its new Electronic Stability Control (ESC) test track in Chennai. This state-of-the-art facility enhances ZF’s testing capabilities, complementing its existing ABS test track to support the development of cutting-edge safety systems for vehicles.

The ESC test track provides a controlled environment for evaluating vehicle stability, maneuverability, and performance. Certified by TÜV Rheinland and ARAI, the facility is designed for a wide range of vehicles, from two-wheelers to heavy commercial vehicles. It is also accessible to customers and third parties, offering an independent platform for industry-wide testing, according to ZF.

Key features of the track include a 200-meter diameter dynamic pad with a 0.9 µ surface friction, ideal for testing components under extreme stress and identifying areas for improvement. Additionally, the facility’s 600-meter approach roads simulate real-world driving conditions, enabling rigorous tests for scenarios like sharp turns, slippery roads, and sudden braking.

“This facility represents a significant step in advancing the development and testing of safety systems,” said P. Kaniappan, Managing Director of ZF CVS India. “By collaborating with experts and utilizing advanced testing methodologies, we aim to drive innovations that enhance vehicle performance and contribute to saving lives on the road.”

The ESC test track underscores ZF CVS India’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive safety and supporting the industry with cutting-edge testing solutions.
