At its recent meeting, the Supervisory Board of ZF Friedrichshafen AG made important decisions regarding company leadership and organizational structure. Effective November 1, 2025, Andreas Moser, formerly head of the Industrial Technology division, has been appointed to the Board of Management. He will oversee the Commercial Vehicle Solutions and Industrial Technology divisions, as well as the India region. Meanwhile, Sebastian Schmitt will take charge of the Electrified Powertrain Technology division, which combines ZF’s conventional, hybrid, and electric passenger car drivetrain technologies. CEO Mathias Miedreich will continue to hold responsibility for this division on the Board of Management.
“Following recent changes on the Board of Management, it was crucial to bring clarity to ZF’s leadership,” said Dr Rolf Breidenbach, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. “Andreas Moser brings over 30 years of experience with ZF, much of it in leadership roles within the Commercial Vehicle Solutions and Industrial Technology sectors. His appointment ensures both expertise and continuity. We have now successfully established a strong management committee able to guide the company through current challenges.” CEO Mathias Miedreich added, “With this refreshed leadership team, we are well-positioned to steer ZF confidently into the future.”
Andreas Moser, born in 1963, joined ZF in 1992. He has held various roles in business management and sales within the Commercial Vehicle Solutions division, which he led starting in 2020. In 2021, he assumed leadership of the Industrial Technology division. Sebastian Schmitt, an industrial engineer with nearly 20 years at ZF, has led the Electrified Powertrain Systems product line and has held key roles at ZF’s locations in Mexico and Germany. He will report directly to CEO Miedreich, who will maintain overall responsibility for the division.
To accelerate the company’s transformation, CEO Mr Miedreich is introducing a leaner management team, reducing the Board of Management from six to five members. This change reflects a focus on efficiency and sharper decision-making. Additionally, ZF is launching a Transformation Committee to connect core business areas—sales, supply chain, production, and strategy—directly with the Board. This committee will oversee the company’s group-wide performance program, driving the ongoing transformation.
“Our priority over the coming years is to strengthen operations, boost profitability, and enhance financial stability,” said Mr Miedreich. “The new Transformation Committee embodies speed, transparency, and impact, with a clear mission to support customers through innovative technologies and dependable partnerships.”
