ZF and Farizon have strengthened their strategic partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at IAA Transportation 2024. This collaboration, themed “Safe, Smart and Sustainable Journey to Farther Horizons,” aims to expedite the integration of ZF’s advanced technologies into Farizon’s new energy vehicles. Farizon, a leading new energy commercial vehicle manufacturer under Geely Holding Group, is focused on developing vehicles powered by methanol-hydrogen and electric energy.

The expanded partnership will focus on optimizing energy consumption, enhancing truck-trailer safety, and increasing the intelligence of vehicles. It’s range of technologies—including transmissions, e-mobility solutions, braking systems, suspension, steering, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)—will be incorporated into Farizon’s entire lineup of vehicles, not just heavy-duty trucks.

Additionally, the partnership extends to developing a comprehensive methanol-hydrogen ecosystem, accelerating the new energy industry’s transition. Methanol-hydrogen fuel is recognized for its high energy density, cost-effectiveness, and lower emissions, making it a sustainable alternative to traditional fuels.

Prof. Dr. Peter Laier, a member of ZF’s Board of Management, emphasized the collaboration’s significance: “This partnership underscores our commitment to technological innovation and market development. As a leading provider of comprehensive solutions to the commercial vehicle industry, ZF aims to drive industry advancements and cater to various transportation needs.”

Mike Fan, CEO of Farizon, added, “Sustainable development is a global priority. Our collaboration with ZF will deliver cleaner, more efficient solutions for commercial vehicle users worldwide, advancing the zero-carbon transportation future.”
