ZF Aftermarket is set to impress at the upcoming Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) and the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, emphasizing its commitment to sustainability and innovation throughout the product life cycle. The company aims to exceed customer expectations in automotive and commercial vehicle sectors through its extensive global brand network.
As the aftermarket becomes increasingly vital in shaping the future of mobility, it highlights its role in helping vehicle and fleet owners extend their vehicles’ lifespan. By providing high-quality replacement and remanufactured components, ZF enhances safety, reliability, and efficiency. “We are excited to showcase our latest products and connect with our diverse customer base at AAPEX and SEMA, two of North America’s premier aftermarket events,” said Mark Cali, Head of North America Aftermarket Passenger Car at ZF. At the Venetian Expo Center, Booth #5057, ZF Aftermarket will display a wide range of products, including an expansion of its TRW braking portfolio.
Introduction of TRW Brake Hoses
This year, ZF Aftermarket will introduce TRW Brake Hoses, adding to its extensive line of brake components. The company plans to roll out over 500 new brake hose part numbers across the U.S. and Canada by the end of the year, with 64% designed for domestic and Asian vehicles and 36% for European models.
Manufactured to meet TRW’s original equipment specifications, these brake hoses offer significantly lower volumetric expansion compared to competitors, providing improved pedal feel and stopping performance. The precise concentric fitting holes ensure a smooth flow of brake fluid, which is crucial for vehicles equipped with advanced Anti-Lock Braking Systems (ABS) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC).
With a legacy of designing braking systems for global vehicle manufacturers, ZF understands the critical components needed to maintain vehicle performance. The TRW aftermarket portfolio includes over 3,000 parts, ranging from brake pads and discs to fluids, boosters, and master cylinders.
Emphasizing Remanufactured Products for Cost Savings and Sustainability
At AAPEX, ZF will showcase several remanufactured products aimed at the U.S. market, including TRW steering gears, WABCO air compressors, and electronic control units (ECUs). Remanufacturing allows ZF to restore used products to a condition that meets or exceeds original quality and performance standards, reducing the carbon footprint by reusing components and minimizing the need for new materials.
“Remanufacturing is an industrialized process that differs from simple rebuilding or repair,” explained Jeff Stukenborg, Head of Reman Engineering for ZF Aftermarket North America. “We utilize 60 to 90 percent of the materials from our remanufactured products, transforming used parts into fully functional units that perform like new. These products not only deliver excellent performance and warranties similar to new items, but they also cost about a third less, making them a practical choice.” Stukenborg will discuss “ZF’s Approach to a Greener Future: Sustainable Design and Remanufacturing” on the AAPEX Sustainability Stage during the event.
Ongoing Expansion of Product Offerings
In 2024, ZF Aftermarket has added around 320 new parts to its OE-quality aftermarket product range, further broadening vehicle coverage in North America. These products are available for purchase through ZF distributors and online marketplaces like Amazon and eBay.
