Zetwerk, the world’s largest managed marketplace for contract manufacturing, recently secured a major order with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to install electric vehicle (EV) fast chargers across India. The order was part of a competitive bidding process that saw participation from over 40 leading EV suppliers from around the country. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Zetwerk as it supports IOCL, India’s top fuel retailer, in its goal to become a comprehensive energy solutions provider, particularly in the rapidly evolving field of EVs.
IOCL’s partnership with Zetwerk aligns with its long-term Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, as the company aims to empower consumers with cleaner energy options while reducing the carbon footprint and transportation costs. As part of this initiative, the company will be installing over 1400 EV chargers with varying capacities ranging from 50-60kW to 100-120kW. These chargers will be the DC Dual gun CCS2 DC Charger type, capable of simultaneously charging two vehicles with a dynamic load-sharing mode.
Abhay Adya, Business Head – Renewables at Zetwerk, emphasized the significance of this partnership with IOCL, highlighting the company’s commitment to revolutionizing EV charging infrastructure in India. These charging stations will be strategically deployed across IOCL outlets, ensuring a seamless charging experience for EV owners. By strategically locating these stations in major cities, Zetwerk aims to accelerate the adoption of EVs and contribute to a more sustainable future for the nation.
This achievement comes at a time when Zetwerk has been actively expanding its presence in the renewable energy sector. The company has previously been involved in setting up Bangladesh’s largest solar power plant, further solidifying its commitment to sustainable energy solutions. With a valuation of $2.8 billion, Zetwerk operates as a managed marketplace specializing in contract manufacturing.
