Zen Technologies Ltd announced that it has been granted its third patent for the T-90 Tank Simulator, specifically for the Containerised Driving Simulator System (T-90 DS). This new patent solidifies the company’s position in the military training simulation field.
The patent, filed on March 24, 2022, is valid until March 24, 2042. Zen Technologies has secured a total of 14 patents in the current financial year, including four patents in 2025. The company intends to continue advancing simulation technologies to improve the training of combat vehicle operators and enhance military preparedness. Prior patents included those for the Basic Gunnery Simulator (BGS) and Crew Gunnery Simulator (CGS), along with patents for variants of the T-72 and BMP-II tank simulators.
The T-90 DS is an advanced, portable training solution that offers military personnel an immersive and realistic training experience. It allows users to train in a controlled setting, eliminating the need for live vehicle operation while still ensuring effective skill development. The system replicates the tank driver’s station with precision, incorporating a six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) motion platform that mimics the movements of a T-90 tank across various terrains.
This allows operators to experience authentic vehicle dynamics. Additionally, the simulator features scenario-based AI training, offering customizable modules that simulate combat situations such as urban warfare, desert operations, and night maneuvers, preparing trainees for a variety of battlefield conditions.
By integrating virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies, the system enhances situational awareness and offers an interactive training environment with real-time battlefield scenarios. The T-90 DS also supports multi-crew and multi-unit training, allowing tank crew members to train together, fostering teamwork and improving operational efficiency.
The containerized design of the T-90 DS Simulator makes it a mobile, plug-and-play system that can be easily transported and deployed at different military locations. This flexibility enables armed forces to conduct high-quality training without the logistical challenges associated with moving heavy vehicles.
