Zelestra, based in Spain, announced on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) to supply 16 MW of clean energy from its Tamil Nadu-based project. The company is developing a 149 MW hybrid project (wind and solar) near Chennai, according to a statement.
A power purchase agreement (PPA) has been finalized with DICV, a fully owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, Germany, for the provision of 16.2 MW of renewable energy. This power will be directed to DICV’s manufacturing plant in Oragadam, near Chennai, where it produces commercial trucks and luxury buses under the BharatBenz brand, as well as vehicles from Daimler Trucks’ brands like FUSO, Mercedes-Benz, and Freightliner.
“The PPA highlights Zelestra’s capability to create customized solutions for clients by combining wind and solar power to meet DICV’s specific operational needs,” the company stated.
