Zelestra has entered into a long-term contract with SJVN to deliver consistent, green energy solutions across India. This agreement ensures the supply of clean energy around the clock, including during peak demand hours in the morning and evening.

The project, located in Solapur, Maharashtra, is expected to go live in 2027 and will combine 250 MWdc of solar power, 180 MW of wind power, and a 90 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). Zelestra will manage the development, construction, ownership, and operation of the project.

The combined energy output of this project will be over 815 GWh annually, which is enough to power more than 225,000 homes and help avoid around 0.7 million tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. This deal marks a significant milestone for Zelestra, which now has over 5.4 GW of renewable energy projects under development across seven states in India.

Sajay K.V., CEO of Zelestra India, commented, “We are thrilled to secure this transformative project with SJVN. By integrating solar, wind, and battery storage, we will provide reliable clean energy throughout the day, especially during critical peak hours. This is our largest multi-technology project win, and it reflects our shift from focusing solely on renewable projects to offering more complex, dependable green power solutions for industries and data centers nationwide.”

Recognized as one of the top clean energy providers globally by BNEF, and ranked second in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, Zelestra continues to prove its capability in delivering customized energy solutions. This contract underscores the company’s commitment to India, a key market in the global transition to a sustainable energy future.

Zelestra is a vertically integrated renewable energy company with a portfolio of 28 GW of carbon-free projects across 13 countries.
