Yuma Energy, a key player in India’s battery swapping industry, has achieved the significant milestone of conducting 1 million battery swaps per month. The company, which currently operates 175 swapping stations across the country, has also begun its services in Hyderabad, Telangana. With plans to increase its network to 300 stations by year-end, Yuma Energy continues to grow rapidly.

The company currently serves over 100,000 electric two-wheeler users, boasting a station uptime of 99% and an average swap time of under one minute. Expanding its reach, Yuma Energy’s operations now span across 10 cities in India, including metropolitan hubs like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram, as well as smaller cities like Indore, Kochi, Tirunelveli, and Pondicherry.

Muthu Subramanian, General Manager and Managing Director of Yuma Energy, highlighted the company’s growth as a reflection of the market’s acceptance of their services. He emphasized Yuma Energy’s commitment to addressing gaps in charging infrastructure and easing range anxiety to promote the adoption of electric vehicles in India.

It credits its success to the use of advanced analytics and proprietary data models in managing its battery swapping network. To further expand, the company has formed partnerships with major public and private entities, including the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Indian Railways, Adani Electricity, and others.

As India’s electric two-wheeler market continues to grow, driven by environmental concerns, rising fuel costs, and government incentives, Yuma Energy’s services are becoming increasingly important. The market is seeing a surge in electric scooter and motorcycle launches, although the widespread use of fixed batteries poses challenges, particularly in urban areas with limited access to charging infrastructure.
