A delegation of Indian manufacturers travelled to Japan to attend the Yuasa Grand Fair 2026, gaining a firsthand look at some of the country’s leading machine tool builders and their latest manufacturing technologies. The fair is Yuasa’s flagship private exhibition, held periodically across multiple regions of Japan since the 1970s, and this year’s edition runs across five venues throughout the year, including Makuhari Messe in the Kanto region, Yume Messe Miyagi in Tohoku, Marine Messe Fukuoka in Kyushu, Intex Osaka in Kansai, and Aichi Sky Expo in Chubu.

The event, organised by Yuasa, brought together a wide range of Japanese machine builders, automation solutions, and industrial technologies under one roof, giving visiting customers direct access to the companies developing them. “The Yuasa Grand Fair was first held in 1978, and this year marks its 48th edition. We host this exhibition at five locations annually, inviting customers from both Japan and around the world to showcase Japanese technology”, shared Akikazu Namai, Managing Director of Yuasa India. He added, “Our suppliers engage in tireless research to create outstanding products, thereby contributing to the excellence of Japanese manufacturing. Through the Grand Fair, we strive to offer the very best solutions to our customers worldwide.”

Yuasa Co, Ltd traces its origins to 1666 and was formally established in 1919, making 2026 its 360th anniversary year. Headquartered in Tokyo and listed on the Prime Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the company operates across manufacturing, home building, environment building, and community building, with divisions spanning industrial equipment and tools, machine tools, housing and fluidic control systems, building supplies and exterior products, and construction machinery. Its Machine Tools Division represents Japanese machine builders and supplies manufacturing technology to industry across markets including India, and it is this division that anchors the Indian delegation’s participation in the Grand Fair.

Barjinder Singh, Business Head at Yuasa India, described the fair as a platform where customers could interact directly with Japanese technology leaders and experience new innovations firsthand. The visit to Sakurai’s factory was a highlight of the trip, he said, crediting the Yuasa Japan team and partner machine builders for their hospitality. For Singh, the value of the trip lay in how far the conversations went beyond product specifications. “These discussions went beyond products; they focused on manufacturing challenges, productivity improvements, and opportunities to create greater value together,” he said.

Representatives from Yuasa India accompanied customers through the fair and on a visit to the manufacturing facilities of Sakurai, Seibu Electric & Machinery Co.,Ltd., Mitsui High-tec, Enshu, Nagase Integrex Co Ltd, and Mitsu Seiki, where they saw precision engineering practices central to Japanese production methods. The trip combined exhibition floor demonstrations with factory-level insight, allowing Indian manufacturers to see technologies in the context of the plants that build them. Discussions at the fair spanned applications across production, toolrooms, and die casting, among other areas relevant to Indian industry.

Arunkumar Kulkarni, Senior Manager – Sales & Marketing at Yuasa India, called it a chance to showcase the value Yuasa brings to its Indian customers. “It was a fantastic learning experience to witness the world’s leading Japanese machine tool manufacturers under one roof at Yuasa Grand Fair 2026,” he said, thanking Yuasa’s technology partners in Japan and the Yuasa Japan team for the event’s success.
