Yokogawa acquires Indian Flowmeter Manufacturer Adept Fluidyne

Yokogawa India Limited, a subsidiary of Japan’s Yokogawa Electric Corporation, announced today the completion of its acquisition of Adept Fluidyne Pvt. Ltd., one of India’s leading manufacturers of magnetic flowmeters. The acquisition signifies Yokogawa’s commitment to expanding its footprint in India and enhancing its product offerings in the region.

The announcement was made in the presence of key company officials, including Sajiv Nath, Vice President of Yokogawa Electric-Japan, Regional Chief Executive for South Asia, and Managing Director of Yokogawa India Limited, alongside Vinayak Gadre, Managing Director of Adept Fluidyne Pvt. Ltd.

Founded in 1983, Adept Fluidyne has established itself as a prominent player in the flowmeter market, with a portfolio that includes over 70,000 flowmeters supplied across various industry sectors such as water and wastewater. In 2010, Adept expanded its offerings to include ultrasonic flowmeters and also provides IoT gateways, smart water meters, and flowmeter calibration services. Adept’s products are distributed both domestically and internationally to over 25 countries.

Yokogawa, established in India in 1987, has been a significant player in delivering control systems and field instruments for the energy sector, as well as providing solutions for remote monitoring and water treatment facilities. The acquisition of Adept Fluidyne is aligned with Yokogawa’s strategy to support the growth of India’s industrial sector under the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, which aims to position India as a global manufacturing hub.

Vinayak Gadre expressed enthusiasm for the merger, stating, “Adept is glad to become a part of the Yokogawa family. Established in 1983, Adept has manufactured magnetic flowmeters for over 30 years and introduced ultrasonic flowmeters in 2010. We have supplied over 70,000 flowmeters to various industry sectors, including water and wastewater. Additionally, Adept offers IoT gateways, smart water meters, and flowmeter calibration services. With an expanding sales network across India, Adept has secured significant public and private sector orders and exports to customers in over 25 countries.”

Yokogawa plans to enhance Adept’s manufacturing capabilities and certified flow calibration facilities in Pune to support local production of its lineup of magnetic flowmeters that meet global quality standards. The collaboration aims to leverage Yokogawa’s advanced solutions in measurement, control, and information, catering to industries including energy, chemicals, materials, pharmaceuticals, and food.
