Yield Engineering Systems (YES), a prominent manufacturer of process equipment for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) semiconductor solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Under this agreement, YES plans to set up a manufacturing and New Product Development facility in Coimbatore, India. The project will involve an investment of INR 150 crore over the next decade, with the creation of approximately 300 direct jobs. In the first five years, 200 of these positions will be filled in Tamil Nadu.
Additionally, the project is expected to generate around 1,200 indirect jobs through suppliers and contract manufacturers. The Tamil Nadu government will provide necessary infrastructural support and regulatory assistance to facilitate the project’s development.
“This facility will bring us closer to our customers, provide scalable manufacturing and engineering infrastructure, and allow us to contribute to the growth of the semiconductor ecosystem in India. This aligns with Tamil Nadu’s vision of developing Coimbatore into a global center for semiconductor capital equipment,” said Rama Alapati, CEO and Chairman of YES.
Dr. T R B Rajaa, Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Industries, emphasized the importance of this investment in advancing the state’s position in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing. “This investment by YES marks a significant milestone in establishing a semiconductor ecosystem in Coimbatore,” he said.
