Yield Engineering Systems, Inc. (YES), a global leader in materials and interface engineering solutions, has announced the successful shipment of its first commercial VeroTherm Formic Acid Reflow tool from its new manufacturing facility in Sulur, Coimbatore, India. This significant milestone highlights YES’s commitment to supporting the growing semiconductor industry in India and marks the first time advanced semiconductor equipment, critical for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) used in AI and High-Performance Computing (HPC) applications, has been produced locally. YES began operations at the Sulur facility in September 2024, strategically located at 96/3 Vadakku Sambala Thottam, Trichy Road, Kannampalayam, Sulur Taluk.

With more than 40 years of experience, YES has built a reputation for delivering high-quality processing equipment for the semiconductor, display, and life sciences sectors. The new facility, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, will meet the growing demand for YES’s products, such as VertaCure™, Verotherm™, and VeroFlex™ systems, which are essential for advanced wafer and panel-level packaging. YES is also focused on developing a robust local supply chain to support the community and create job opportunities as part of its commitment to advancing India’s manufacturing capabilities.

S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITy), commented, “The launch of shipments from YES’s Tamil Nadu facility is a significant milestone for India’s semiconductor industry. This initiative supports the national goal of building a self-reliant and competitive semiconductor ecosystem and will play a vital role in enhancing India’s standing in the global semiconductor market.”

T.R.B. Rajaa, Minister for Industries in Tamil Nadu, added, “The successful shipment of the first semiconductor equipment from the YES Sulur facility is a testament to the success of Chief Minister Thiru MK Stalin’s visit to the US and the Tamil Nadu Semiconductor and Advanced Electronics Policy. Tamil Nadu remains focused on becoming a global hub for semiconductor manufacturing, as evidenced by the announcement of semiconductor manufacturing parks in Sulur and Palladam in the 2025 state budget.”

Ramakanth Alapati, Chairman and CEO of YES, said, “The shipment from our Sulur facility is a key step in reinforcing India’s semiconductor industry. Our facility is integrated with YES’s global manufacturing network, ensuring reliable and expert delivery of products to customers both in India and internationally.”
