With the strength of renewable energy in manufacturing operations, the new unit of Yanmar India will first manufacture the engines for agriculture and construction industries OEMs. The annual target is to produce 80,000 engines of 15 kW to 37 kW with the total production capacity to reach 160,000 units.
Taking the investment in India to next level, a new industrial engine manufacturing unit has been established by Yanmar Engine Manufacturing India Pvt Ltd. The new plant will first produce engines for the company’s tractor brands along with the supply of engines to major agriculture economies like India as well as Europe, the US and Asia, and other regions of soaring demand for industrial engines. The plant is located at the Origins Industrial Estate in Tamil Nadu.

The unit has been equipped with solar panels with an annual output of 1,380,000 kWh power to maximize the production with renewable energy. In addition to this, the plant will ensure the optimum use of rainwater and greenbelts to reduce the impact of the production process on the environment
“In emerging countries such as India, which are experiencing rapid economic growth, demand for the industrial engines is expected to grow as mechanization in the country increases in the field of agriculture and construction sectors," stated Varun Khanna, Managing Director, YEMI on the scope of Industrial engines production.
To pursue state-of-art production, the Japanese group has ensured the new plant be equipped with the same production capacity and quality norms as those of Japanese manufacturing units. “The new plant will be an important base for expanding the Yanmar’s share in global industrial engines production.
