Wipro Hydraulics has officially opened its sixth manufacturing facility in Jaipur, Rajasthan, with an investment of approximately Rs 250 crore. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Wipro Enterprises Chairman Azim Premji, and Pratik Kumar, CEO of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and Managing Director of Wipro Enterprises.

Kumar highlighted that the new plant, which has been built at a cost of around Rs 250 crore, is expected to create about 400 job opportunities. The facility has an initial production capacity of 1,000 hydraulic cylinders per day, with the potential to double output based on future demand.

This new plant marks Wipro’s sixth production site in India, complementing existing units in Chennai, Hindupur, and Bengaluru. It is designed to serve both domestic and international markets. Kumar emphasized that the Jaipur plant aims to enhance product quality and cost efficiency through a combination of a skilled workforce and advanced automation. “The facility is equipped with machinery made in India, and all assembly, manufacturing, testing, and packaging operations are conducted in-house,” he added.

Currently, the Jaipur facility employs 166 staff members and began operations in May 2024. Wipro Hydraulics is confident that its global standing in the hydraulics industry will improve, bolstered by recent acquisitions of Mailhot, JARP, and Columbus.

The company specializes in designing and manufacturing custom hydraulic cylinders for various sectors, including construction, material handling, forestry, agriculture, mining, and truck tipping solutions. Key clients include major OEMs such as JCB, Tata Hitachi, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai, Volvo, and Epiroc.

Sitaram Ganeshan, President of Wipro Hydraulics, expressed optimism about the growing demand in the construction equipment sector. “We anticipate that India will become the second-largest construction equipment manufacturing market by 2030, with growth rates exceeding 20% over the past two years,” he noted. With the addition of this new facility, Wipro Hydraulics now operates a total of 16 plants globally, including locations in India, Europe, the USA, and Brazil.
