WIDMA® Machining Solutions Group of Kennametal India Limited, a premier manufacturer of metal cutting CNC machines, has introduced two groundbreaking machining solutions at the Pune Machine Tool Expo (PMTX) 2024. The newly launched next-generation horizontal machining center, MacHX800™, and the blank profile grinding machine, BPG 15, were showcased among other advanced technologies.
Held from May 25-28 at the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Center in Moshi, Pune, PMTX 2024 is one of the region’s largest events for machine tool and manufacturing technologies. The event, organized by the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA), attracted industry leaders and professionals from around the globe.
On May 25, the WIDMA booth (C-107) was inaugurated by Mr. Dadasaheb Gore, COO of Ultra Corpotech Private Limited, an engineering and energy solutions major and esteemed WIDMA customer. Mr. Gore remarked, “Indian manufacturing is undergoing a transformation—continuous innovation, skill enhancement, and benchmarked processes are making our products and solutions set high performance standards on a global platform. The indigenously created machines on display are a testament to the advancements in this sector. It’s my pleasure to join the Kennametal team in the launch of their new machines.”
WIDMA’s highlight at PMTX was the newly launched MacHX800™ Horizontal Machining Center (HMC). This next-gen HMC is designed for large part machining across industries such as commercial vehicles, construction and farm equipment, aerospace, and general engineering. The MacHX800™ is IoT 4.0 enabled and offers the rigidity, productivity, accuracy, and versatility necessary for machining a variety of materials under tough conditions.
Also in the spotlight was the BPG-15 Blank Profile Grinding Machine, which is dedicated to the preparation of cutting tool blanks (diameters from 3 to 32 mm) in one setup. This machine augments the Tool & Cutter Grinding machines portfolio, providing customers with a comprehensive range of solutions.
Additionally, WIDMA showcased the VT850 Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL), launched in 2023. Designed for manufacturers seeking accuracy and best-in-class productivity, this 2-axis, standard ‘plug-and-play’ VTL is intended for machining large components that require heavy metal removal. Users can combine several operations without compromising quality.
