Welspun Enterprises has recently been awarded a significant design and build contract valued at ₹1,989 crore by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). This project entails the design and construction of a tertiary treated water conveyance tunnel that will connect the Dharavi Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) to the Ghatkopar WWTF, as announced in a company statement.
The project will involve the use of advanced technology, specifically a tunnel boring machine (TBM), to construct the tunnel within a stipulated timeframe of 93 months. This initiative not only showcases the company’s engineering prowess but also underscores its commitment to enhancing Mumbai’s infrastructure in a sustainable manner.
In addition to this substantial contract, Welspun Enterprises has also revealed that its subsidiary, Welspun Michigan Engineers, has been entrusted with a separate project worth ₹24.60 crore aimed at improving wastewater treatment processes in Maharashtra.
