Wanhua Chemical Battery Technology Co Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Serbia-based ElevenEs, a prominent European producer of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. The agreement, formalized in Meishan, Sichuan, outlines plans to collaborate on localizing the supply chain for LFP battery materials in Europe.

This partnership includes cooperation on a wide range of products—LFP cathode materials, PVDF binders, and NMP solvents—to support the fast-growing new energy sector. Both companies will share technical knowledge, form a joint technical team, and work closely to accelerate product development and market reach. Wanhua will support ElevenEs’ operations in Serbia by leveraging its global production network and technical capabilities.

Wanhua Chemical brings decades of expertise in material science, engineering, and process development. The company has built a comprehensive technical platform for battery components, covering cathode and anode materials, binders, and solvents.

“This agreement represents a major milestone in our efforts to strengthen local production of battery materials in Europe,” said Wang Xiaoxing, General Manager of Wanhua Chemical Battery Technology. “By combining our strengths, we aim to deliver reliable, high-performance materials that support the European clean energy sector.”

Nemanja Mikać, CEO of ElevenEs, added, “Wanhua’s strong capabilities in material development will be crucial to our goal of establishing a localized, secure, and competitive battery supply chain in Europe. This collaboration boosts innovation and speeds up our ability to deliver next-generation LFP batteries.” Looking ahead, the two companies plan to extend their cooperation into electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and battery cell production—strengthening their roles in the global energy transition.

A venture by Al Pack Group, ElevenEs brings three decades of precision manufacturing experience in aluminum to the battery industry. The company operates a dedicated R&D center since 2021 and launched a pilot production line in 2023. It is now preparing to scale up with a Megafactory targeting 1 GWh annual capacity by 2026 and a Gigafactory aiming to reach 40 GWh across Europe and the U.S. by 2031. ElevenEs is supported by EIT InnoEnergy, a key investor in sustainable energy technologies.
