VA TECH WABAG (WABAG), a prominent player in water treatment technology, has been awarded a seven-year operations and maintenance (O&M) contract worth $14 million (approximately ₹121 crore) by BAPCO Refining B.S.C. The contract involves managing the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWTP) at BAPCO’s refinery in Bahrain. The plant, utilizing Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology, has a capacity to treat 4,400 US gallons of wastewater per minute, ensuring the water meets stringent environmental and industrial standards.
This new project expands WABAG’s footprint in Bahrain, where it has been operating the 40 MLD Madinat Salman Sewage Treatment Plant since November 2018.
