Waaree Solar Americas, the U.S. subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited (India’s largest solar PV module manufacturer), has secured a major 540 MW order to supply photovoltaic (PV) modules to a prominent U.S.-based utility-scale solar and energy storage developer . As part of the agreement, the company will deliver 270 MW of modules in 2025, with the remaining 270 MW scheduled for supply during the 2027–2028 period. This order marks a major milestone in Waaree’s expanding footprint in the North American renewable energy sector.
The modules will be provided to a well-established U.S.-based developer and operator of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. These modules will be assembled at Waaree’s advanced manufacturing facility located in Brookshire, Texas, which currently operates with an annual capacity of 1.6 GW. The site plays a central role in fulfilling growing domestic and international demand for solar technologies.
To further meet rising demand, Waaree is in the process of commissioning a second 1.6 GW production line at the Brookshire site. Upon completion, this expansion will double the company’s total U.S. manufacturing capacity to 3.2 GW by the end of 2025. This increased capacity underscores Waaree’s commitment to establishing a robust and scalable supply chain within the U.S.
All modules manufactured for this contract will meet the U.S. Investment Tax Credit (ITC) domestic content requirements. This alignment with policy incentives enables customers to qualify for enhanced tax credits while simultaneously supporting the development of the domestic clean-energy manufacturing ecosystem.
The 540 MW order builds on Waaree Solar Americas’ growing order book, which surpassed 1.2 GW in the first quarter of fiscal year 2025–26. This upward momentum reflects strong and consistent demand across the North American market, particularly from emerging sectors like AI data centers, infrastructure modernization, and industrial electrification.
In addition to strengthening Waaree’s market position, the order contributes to U.S. energy security goals by fostering local production, job creation, and clean-energy transition efforts. With this deal, Waaree continues to play a key role in accelerating solar adoption while investing in long-term infrastructure and sustainable growth in the American energy sector.
Waaree Solar Americas Inc, based in Brookshire, TX, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited. The facility represents the first phase of a projected 3.2 GW U.S. manufacturing hub, reflecting Waaree’s strategic vision for an integrated, locally compliant solar energy supply chain that accelerates America’s clean energy transition.
