Waaree Energies Limited has once again secured its place as India’s leading solar module supplier, holding a 14% market share in the first half of FY2025, according to the latest quarterly report by JMK Research & Analytics. The company retained its No.1 ranking for the April–June 2025 quarter.
This performance reinforces Waaree’s role in supporting India’s renewable energy targets, as the country added 4.2 GW of utility-scale solar and 1.3 GW of rooftop capacity during the quarter. India’s total installed solar capacity now stands at 91 GW, with more than 70 GW currently under development. The country is working toward a goal of 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030.
“This recognition from JMK Research highlights our continued leadership at a time when the country’s clean energy efforts are gaining pace,” said Dr. Amit Paithankar, Whole-time Director & CEO of Waaree Energies. “It reflects not just our volumes, but also our focus on delivering reliable, high-quality solar technology.”
Waaree currently operates with a global module manufacturing capacity of approximately 16.7 GW and a domestic solar cell capacity of 5.4 GW. These facilities, equipped with advanced technologies, support both domestic requirements and growing international demand. The company has ongoing expansion plans to increase capacity in line with market growth. Internationally, Waaree has continued to secure large orders — including a 452 MW project in the United States — further establishing its presence in global renewable supply chains.
With India expected to add more than 30 GW of solar capacity in FY2026, Waaree is preparing to scale its operations further. The company plans continued investments in production technology, quality systems, and new markets to support utility-scale developers, engineering contractors, and distribution networks.
Established in 1990 and headquartered in Mumbai, Waaree Energies Limited is a key player in India’s renewable energy sector. The company operates manufacturing units with a total PV module production capacity of ~16.7 GW (including facilities acquired from Indosolar and new capacity in Texas, USA), and a cell manufacturing capacity of 5.4 GW.
Waaree’s business spans solar panels, inverters, EPC services, green hydrogen, battery storage, infrastructure development, and data center solutions. The company has a strong domestic presence and serves customers in more than 25 countries, contributing to India’s clean energy goals with home-grown manufacturing and engineering expertise.
