Waaree Energies announced on January 2 that it has secured an order to supply solar modules with a total capacity of 150 MWp (megawatt peak). The order comes from a prominent player in India’s renewable energy sector that specializes in owning, developing, and managing green power projects.The delivery of these solar modules is expected to begin in the financial year 2025-26.
In December, Waaree Energies’ subsidiary, Waaree Solar Americas Inc., initiated trial production of solar modules at its U.S.-based manufacturing unit. The first phase of this facility has a 1.6 GW production capacity, which is planned to expand to 3 GW in the future.
During the same month, the company also secured two orders totaling 398 MW for solar module supply. These include a 249 MW project and another for 149 MW, both awarded by a leading renewable energy firm in India. Deliveries for these projects are also slated to begin in FY26.
Additionally, Waaree Forever Energies, another subsidiary, received a contract to develop a 170 MW solar power plant in Madhya Pradesh. Awarded by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd, this project will integrate into the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS), ensuring efficient clean energy distribution. The electricity generated will serve Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Ltd and Indian Railways. Founded in 1990,
