Waaree Energies has commenced operations at its newly established 1.8 GW solar module manufacturing plant in Chikhli, located in Gujarat’s Navsari district. The addition of this facility raises the company’s total solar module production capacity to 16.8 GW annually.
In addition to module production, Waaree runs a 5.4 GW solar cell manufacturing facility and continues to scale both upstream and downstream capabilities. The company has set ambitious targets to increase its capacities significantly by the end of FY 2027.
As part of its long-term expansion plan, Waaree is working towards achieving 25.7 GW of solar module output, 15.4 GW of solar cell capacity, and 10 GW of ingot and wafer production on an annual basis. The company’s diversification also includes upcoming manufacturing capacities beyond photovoltaic components. These include a 3.5 GWh lithium-ion battery and energy storage unit, a 3 GW solar inverter line, and a 300 MW electrolyzer facility aimed at supporting India’s growing green hydrogen ecosystem.
