Waaree Group, India’s leading solar PV module manufacturer, has started constructing its alkaline electrolyser manufacturing facility in Valsad, Gujarat. The plant will begin operations with an initial production capacity of 300 MW. The new facility will serve industries such as steel, refining, transportation, fertilizers, chemicals, food, and power generation, helping them transition to cleaner, decarbonized operations.
“The plant will incorporate cutting-edge equipment and manufacturing processes to produce high-efficiency, durable, and reliable electrolysers for large-scale green hydrogen production. Designed for low power consumption and flexible operations, these electrolysers will deliver superior performance with minimal maintenance,” Waaree stated. “Automated assembly lines for electrolyser stacks will be a key feature, ensuring precision and scalability.” Waaree recently secured a production-linked incentive (PLI) for 300 MW electrolyser manufacturing capacity and 90,000 metric tons per annum of green hydrogen production under the Government of India’s SIGHT (Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition) scheme.
