At Bharat Mobility 2025, Volvo Trucks India introduced its latest innovations, including the FM 420 4X2 LNG tractor and the FM 4X2 tractor equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These vehicles showcase the company’s ongoing commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that help logistics providers meet the demands of a rapidly evolving industry.
Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director & CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles, emphasized, “Volvo Trucks has become synonymous with quality, safety, and environmental care in India. With advancements in LNG technology and a strong focus on sustainable practices, we enable our customers to move toward cleaner, more efficient operations without compromising productivity. These innovations reflect our dedication to fostering sustainable growth and setting new standards for safety and efficiency in India’s commercial vehicle market.”
Dinakar B, EVP of Sales & Marketing at Volvo Trucks India, explained, “We recognize the challenges in the logistics sector, such as long waiting times and underused assets, which impact operational efficiency. By working closely with our partners, we are driving a shift toward smarter, more sustainable operations. Our advanced solutions, like ADAS and LNG technology, enhance safety, improve fuel economy, and significantly reduce operational costs. Volvo trucks are designed for longer hauls, faster turnarounds, and improved efficiency, helping our customers reduce fleet size, emissions, and operating expenses.”
The FM 4X2 LNG tractor, featuring High Pressure Direct Injection (HPDI) technology, offers a breakthrough in reducing both logistics costs and environmental impact. This spark-free technology is ideal for safely transporting hazardous goods and provides superior fuel economy and efficiency compared to diesel engines. It reduces CO₂ emissions by 20%, or up to 100% when using Bio LNG, supporting a sustainable future. This vehicle, paired with a 38 CuM tip-trailer, addresses key challenges in industries like construction and mining by reducing wait times, lowering pollution, and supporting high-frequency operations.
The FM 4X2 tractor with ADAS highlights Volvo’s commitment to safety with technologies like a Camera Monitoring System (CMS) that replaces traditional mirrors, improving visibility and aerodynamics. Other features such as Forward Collision Warning, Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Warning work together to enhance driver and road safety while optimizing operational efficiency.
Volvo Trucks also launched its innovative Fuel Efficiency Services, combining advanced telematics through the Volvo Connect platform with Virtual Reality (VR) driver training. This solution analyzes over 400 driver parameters, identifies skill gaps in real time, and provides personalized training to maximize fleet performance and ensure driver safety. By focusing on sectors like express logistics, mineral transport, and B2B operations, Volvo Trucks is setting new benchmarks for operational efficiency and sustainability, leveraging high-performance vehicles and data-driven insights to meet the needs of the evolving market.
