The International VLSI Design & Embedded Systems Conference (VLSID 2025), one of the world’s most prominent events for the semiconductor and VLSI industries, is set to take place from January 4-8, 2025, at The Leela Palace, Bengaluru. Organized by the VLSI Society of India (VSI), the event brings together over 2,000 engineers, researchers, policymakers, and industry experts to explore cutting-edge advancements in the field. Recognized as the largest IEEE conference for semiconductors and VLSI, it has been a cornerstone of technological innovation for over 38 years.
The conference will be inaugurated by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways, IT, and Electronics, alongside Shri Priyank Kharge, Karnataka’s IT and Biotechnology Minister. With the theme “Silicon Meets AI: Sustainable Innovations in Accelerated Computing, Secure Connectivity, and Intelligent Mobility,” the five-day event will explore the transformative role of VLSI and embedded systems in domains like AI/ML, 5G, IoT, quantum computing, electric vehicles, and emerging technologies.
Attendees can look forward to keynotes, panel discussions, fireside chats, paper presentations, tutorials, design contests, and forums dedicated to students, startups, and industry leaders. Key technical tracks will cover topics such as advanced packaging, quantum computing, AI hardware, cybersecurity, energy management, and automotive systems. The event also celebrates women achievers in semiconductors with dedicated discussions and panels.
The conference’s exhibition will feature 58 booths from leading ESDM and semiconductor companies and 24 start-up showcases, providing a platform to highlight innovative products and solutions. Major industry players, including sponsors from top VLSI, semiconductor, and embedded systems companies, will showcase their contributions to the field.
Hitesh Garg, Vice President of NXP Semiconductors, noted that the conference is a driving force for innovation, collaboration, and self-reliance in India’s semiconductor ecosystem. Sandeep Bharathi of Marvell emphasized its role in uniting global leaders to shape the future of technology, while Patrick Johnson of Microchip highlighted its focus on transformative advancements in silicon, AI, and beyond. VLSID 2025 is poised to set new milestones in the semiconductor industry, supporting India’s aspirations in Digital India, Make in India, and Startup India initiatives.
