VinFast, the rapidly growing Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) maker, made a major splash at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi with its official debut in the Indian market. The company unveiled its highly anticipated premium EVs, the VF7 and VF6, both crafted with Indian consumers in mind.
As India continues to emerge as a key player in the global EV market, VinFast’s entry reflects the company’s commitment to contributing to the country’s shift toward sustainable transportation. The unveiling event captured significant attention, with attendees eager to learn how the brand plans to drive India’s EV revolution.
“VinFast’s debut was truly remarkable, and it quickly became one of the most talked-about brands at the exhibition,” said Jitender Murhadhya, Creative Director at the event. The Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 served as the perfect venue for VinFast to introduce its diverse range of electric solutions. The exhibit featured the VF7 and VF6 alongside other vehicles like the compact VF3, the spacious VF9, and several two-wheelers, including the Evo200, Klara, Feliz, and Vento e-scooters.
One of the most exciting reveals was the VF Wild pickup truck concept, which stood out for its innovative design and practical features. “The doors open on both sides, which is really impressive. The seats look extremely comfortable, and there’s a lot of space inside,” said Mudassir, an engineering student.
The VF7 and VF6, both premium SUVs, were the stars of the showcase. Designed with cutting-edge technology and comfort in mind, these vehicles are tailored to meet the needs of Indian consumers. The VF6 stands out with its sleek design and functionality, inspired by the “Duality in Nature” philosophy, while the VF7 offers a dynamic driving experience with its “Asymmetric Aerospace” styling and smart tech features.
“In this segment, comfort is key, and VinFast strikes a perfect balance between comfort and luxury,” said Utkarsh Shukla, a businessman attending the event. India’s EV market is shaped by unique consumer needs, prioritizing affordability, practicality, and strong customer support. Industry experts and attendees at the expo noted that for any EV manufacturer to succeed in India, customer-focused strategies are essential.
Om Vachhani, a market expert, shared, “Other EV brands haven’t quite figured out customer service in India. If VinFast offers great warranty policies, particularly for batteries, it could easily establish itself as a leading brand.”
The brand’s vehicles also cater to the everyday challenges faced by Indian consumers. For example, the VF3 compact SUV was highlighted for its suitability in dense urban traffic. Prasuk Jain, a businessman, commented, “In cities with heavy traffic, we need compact SUVs like the VF3. Plus, it looks modern and youthful.”
VinFast is also planning strategic moves like expanding its dealer network and setting up a local assembly plant in Tamil Nadu. These initiatives are expected to strengthen its presence in the Indian market, allowing for competitive pricing and better local support.
Utkarsh Shukla added, “The cars here are fantastic. I believe VinFast will do really well in India.” His interest in the VF6 reflects how the brand’s focus on consumer preferences resonates with a wide range of customers.
With a strong combination of advanced technology, a diverse product lineup, and a focus on customer needs, VinFast is well-positioned to become a major player in India’s fast-growing EV market. As Mudassir put it, “It’s incredible to see a Vietnamese car company making such waves with impressive designs and innovative features.” While challenges lie ahead, those who attended the launch are confident that VinFast will play a key role in India’s EV transformation.
