VinFast Auto India, the Indian arm of global electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast, has opened its first showroom in Surat, Gujarat. This marks the company’s entry into India’s physical retail landscape, reinforcing its long-term plan to develop a strong presence in the country’s electric mobility sector. The Surat outlet, named ‘VinFast Surat’, is operated by Chandan Car, a well-known name in the Indian automobile retail industry.
Located in the Piplod area of Surat, the 3,000 sq. ft. facility is designed to offer potential customers an engaging and premium experience. The showroom will feature VinFast’s upcoming electric SUV models — the VF 6 and VF 7 — and will serve as a full-service hub, covering everything from product discovery to after-sales support. This launch is part of VinFast’s larger rollout strategy, which includes the establishment of 35 dealerships across over 27 cities by the end of 2025.
Pre-bookings for the VF 6 and VF 7 opened on July 15, 2025. Customers can reserve their preferred model through the VinFast showroom network or the official website, VinFastAuto.in, with a refundable booking fee of ₹21,000. Both models will be assembled at VinFast’s upcoming manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu — a key part of the company’s long-term investment in India as an EV production hub.
Speaking at the showroom inauguration, Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, said, “This new showroom in Surat represents more than just a sales point. It’s our promise to Indian customers. With a strong local partner like Chandan Car, we are committed to delivering not just electric vehicles, but a complete ownership experience built on reliability, innovation, and service excellence.”
To support its India operations, VinFast has also partnered with key service providers including RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to develop a nationwide infrastructure for charging and after-sales services. In a further step toward sustainability, the company has teamed up with BatX Energies, a clean-tech firm focused on battery recycling, to create a circular ecosystem for battery lifecycle management in India.
Listed on NASDAQ under the ticker VFS, VinFast is a subsidiary of Vietnam’s Vingroup JSC, one of the country’s largest business conglomerates. VinFast is committed to making electric mobility accessible and offers a portfolio of electric SUVs, e-scooters, and electric buses. As part of its global growth strategy, the company is expanding its dealership network and manufacturing capabilities in key regions including North America, Europe, and Asia.
