Vikram Roller Flour Mills Limited has expanded its operations with the installation of a new rice processing facility at its headquarters in the Lawrence Road Industrial Area of Delhi. The unit has a processing capacity of 100 tonnes per day and marks the company’s entry into integrated rice processing at its primary production location.
The new “rice to rice” plant has been established as part of the company’s strategy to broaden its agro-processing portfolio beyond wheat products. Vikram Mills has traditionally been known for manufacturing wheat flour and related grain products and is now extending its processing capabilities to include rice.
The facility will focus on handling, grading and processing rice for distribution across the Delhi National Capital Region and surrounding markets. By locating the plant at the company’s headquarters, Vikram Mills aims to strengthen supply logistics and improve operational coordination between its wheat and rice businesses.
Shubham Garg, Director of Vikram Roller Flour Mills Limited, said the new plant represents an important addition to the company’s production capacity. He noted that integrating rice processing with existing wheat operations allows the company to expand its product offerings while responding to growing demand for staple food products.
The commissioning of the Delhi plant follows the successful launch of another rice processing facility last year in Kiloi, Rohtak. That plant, with a capacity of 100 tonnes per day, focuses on “paddy to rice” processing and supports procurement, grading and large-scale handling of paddy sourced from agricultural regions in northern India.
Operational experience gained from the Rohtak facility helped guide the development and installation of the new plant at the Delhi headquarters. The combined operations are expected to support more efficient sourcing, processing and distribution of rice products across regional markets. By bringing wheat flour and rice processing operations together at one location, Vikram Mills is aiming to streamline supply for institutional buyers, retailers and food service operators that require multiple staple products from a single supplier.
Industry demand for integrated sourcing has increased in recent years, particularly among businesses that manage large-scale food distribution and retail networks. With both the Rohtak and Delhi plants now operational, Vikram Mills plans to focus on strengthening its distribution network and maintaining consistent supply across its wheat and rice product lines. The company’s expansion reflects its gradual transition from a specialised flour manufacturer into a broader grain processing enterprise serving both retail and business markets.
