Vibhor Steel Tubes Ltd, a leading steel tube and pipe manufacturer based in Hisar, has successfully begun trial production at its third plant located in Sundargarh district, Odisha, as of Saturday, March 1, 2025. The facility, with a capacity of 120,000 MTPA, commenced operations using generators, with full commercial production expected to start by the end of March 2025 once the electricity connection is established.

The Sundargarh plant spans 23.98 acres and has a total project cost of Rs. 119.83 crores, funded through a combination of debt and internal resources. Once operational, the facility will produce a range of value-added products, such as crash barriers, high mast lighting poles, octagonal poles, and monopoles. The plant will also help the company expand its market reach in eastern India.

Vijay Kaushik, Chairman and Executive Director of Vibhor Steel Tubes, shared his excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to mark this significant milestone in our 30-year journey. Despite facing challenges, our team’s dedication, knowledge, and execution have helped us reach this point. We look forward to the full-scale production, which will create value for our stakeholders in the coming financial year.”

The project faced delays primarily due to challenges in securing an electricity connection from contractors and the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO). The company has worked closely with authorities to fast-track the process.

Vibhor Steel Tubes specializes in manufacturing, exporting, and distributing a variety of steel pipes and tubes. Its product range includes ERW black pipes, galvanised pipes, hollow sections, and primer-painted pipes, catering to sectors like construction, agriculture, and industry. The company operates two other facilities in Maharashtra and Telangana with a combined capacity of 221,000 MTPA.

In February 2025, Vibhor Steel reported a standalone net profit of Rs. 3.43 crore for Q3 FY25, reflecting a 287% increase compared to the previous quarter. Operating income for the quarter was Rs. 247.25 crore, a slight decline from the previous year. EBITDA for Q3 stood at Rs. 9.81 crore. For the nine months ending December 31, 2024, net profit was Rs. 7.34 crore, down from Rs. 12.83 crore in the same period the previous year, with operating income reaching Rs. 708.08 crore.

The company maintains a contract manufacturing agreement with Jindal Pipes to produce and supply products under the “Jindal Star” brand, which accounts for over 80% of its total revenue. Vibhor Steel Tubes has also introduced a new line of products, including fabrication and galvanising of structures for power transmission, substation work, railway electrification, telecom services, and railway overbridges.
