Venus Pipes & Tubes Ltd has commissioned an additional 6.1 MW DC solar power unit at its operations in Gujarat, strengthening its focus on renewable energy, lower power costs and sustainable manufacturing. The company has invested around Rs. 22 crore in the new solar power unit. The facility is expected to generate annual power cost savings of approximately Rs. 6 crore. With the addition of the new capacity, Venus Pipes & Tubes’ total solar power capacity has increased to 7.4 MW DC.
The expansion is part of the company’s efforts to increase the use of renewable energy across its manufacturing operations. By adding more solar power capacity, the company aims to reduce its dependence on conventional electricity sources and improve the efficiency of its power consumption. The new solar unit is also expected to support the company’s long-term cost management plans. The estimated annual savings of Rs 6 crore will help improve operating efficiency while providing greater control over energy costs.
