Vedanta Anticipates 10-Fold Growth in Display Glass Sector with AvanStrate Inc. Stake Increase

Vedanta Limited has projected a tenfold increase in its display glass business following the consolidation of its stake in AvanStrate Inc. Earlier this year, Vedanta acquired an additional 46.57% of AvanStrate Inc., boosting its total ownership in the Japanese display glass firm to approximately 98%.

According to a company release, AvanStrate Inc. (ASI) is now entirely managed by Vedanta and operates without any external debt. This full consolidation is expected to significantly enhance Vedanta’s presence in the display glass market.

The release highlighted that ASI, now under complete control by Vedanta, is set to play a crucial role in the global electronics and display sectors. The company plans to bolster its research and development capabilities, advance technology, and expand production to meet rising international demand.

AvanStrate Inc., with production facilities in Taiwan and Korea and its R&D and headquarters based in Tokyo, is renowned for its advanced Gen 4 to Gen 8 TFT LCD glass substrates. These substrates are essential for manufacturing electronic displays used in various devices including televisions, smartphones, tablets, laptops, and wearables. AvanStrate holds over 700 patents and is recognized as a leader in display technology.
