Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer and the world’s leading manufacturer of aluminium wire rods, launched two high-performance products for the power and transmission industry at PowerEdge 2024.
The new offerings include the AL59 Ingot, known for its superior electrical conductivity, and an EC-grade Wire Rod designed specifically for winding strip applications. These products are tailored for high-precision use in transformer and motor winding, ensuring optimal performance for remelting, fine drawing, conforming, and enamelling processes.
Unveiled at the industry-focused event, PowerEdge 2024, the products were showcased to a wide audience, including leading companies from the power and transmission sectors, industry experts, and policymakers. The event emphasized the importance of aluminium in the evolving energy landscape, with expert discussions on future trends and potential collaborations within the sector.
India’s electricity demand has been steadily increasing, with a 7% growth in 2023 and a projected annual growth rate of 6% through 2026. To meet this growing demand, the development of efficient, robust infrastructure is critical. Vedanta Aluminium’s wire rods, with their enhanced conductivity and design flexibility, are poised to play a pivotal role in improving the country’s energy sector’s efficiency and sustainability.
