VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Baidyanath LNG to deploy 500 Eicher Pro 6055 LNG trucks. The partnership was marked by Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, who flagged off the trucks during the launch of Baidyanath LNG’s new station in Nagpur.
The agreement is set to pave the way for the expansion of the LNG station network across key locations in Central India. This initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of cleaner fuel in the long-haul transport sector, contributing to the overall development of the supply-side ecosystem.
Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO of VECV, emphasized the importance of LNG in reducing emissions in long-distance transportation. He expressed support for Baidyanath LNG’s new facility, noting that it would further encourage the use of LNG trucks as a sustainable option across Maharashtra.
The Eicher Pro 6055 LNG truck features Volvo Group’s advanced engine technology, including a VEGX8 6-cylinder engine that delivers 260 hp and 1000 Nm of torque. The truck boasts a driving range of up to 1,100 km with dual tanks, ensuring efficiency and enhanced safety against fuel theft. The truck’s modern cabin, equipped with HVAC and an air-suspended driver seat, offers superior comfort and boosts driver productivity.
