Varun Berry, Managing Director & CEO of Britannia Industries

Britannia Industries has announced the appointment of Varun Berry as Chief Executive Officer, in addition to his existing responsibilities as Managing Director and Executive Vice-Chairman. The company disclosed this development through a regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange dated 8 May 2025. This appointment formalises Varun Berry’s role in overseeing Britannia’s strategic and operational direction. It does not modify the terms of his existing engagement, which had previously received shareholder approval during the 104th Annual General Meeting held in August 2023.

Since assuming leadership in 2013, Varun has guided the company through consistent growth and market expansion. For the financial year 2024–25, Britannia Industries reported revenue of ₹16,859 crore and a net profit of ₹2,130 crore, reflecting continued year-on-year performance improvement.

Varun Berry’s appointment as CEO reflects the company’s confidence in his leadership and strategic vision. With nearly forty years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods sector, he has previously held senior roles at Hindustan Unilever and PepsiCo. His elevation reinforces Britannia’s focus on driving long-term value, strengthening its market position, and advancing innovation across product categories and operations.

The company’s leadership structure now consolidates strategic oversight under Mr Berry, aligning executive functions to support future growth and competitiveness. Britannia’s board and stakeholders support this direction as part of a broader commitment to corporate stability and sustainable performance.
