Valeo, a leading global player in mobility technology, has expanded its operations in India with the launch of a new power electronics production facility in Pune. The 7,000-square-meter plant is designed to strengthen Valeo’s role in India’s electrification sector, focusing on innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.

Inaugurated by Yann Keraudren, Vice President of Valeo Power Asia Regional Operations, alongside Jayakumar G, Group President & Managing Director of Valeo India, and Nitin Chaudhary, Site General Manager, the new facility represents a significant step in Valeo’s growth in the region. Jayakumar G emphasized that the expansion aligns with the company’s goal of deeper localization and enhancing long-term competitiveness in the production of electrification products.

The Pune facility will focus on producing the On-Board Power Supply 3-in-1 combination unit, which includes an On-Board Charger, DC-DC converter, and Power Distribution Unit. This unit is critical to managing power in electric vehicles (EVs), and its integration helps improve efficiency and reduce component usage. With India’s EV market expanding rapidly, it is positioned to provide adaptable and cost-effective solutions for local manufacturers.

Sustainability and diversity are central to it’s operations in Pune. The company employs over 40 individuals with disabilities and has taken steps to improve the environmental impact of its facilities. A 900 kW rooftop solar panel is already operational at the existing plant, with an additional 700 kW planned for the new site.

Valeo has also introduced several initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint, including replacing employee transportation buses with BS VI-compliant vehicles and adding two electric cars for guest transportation. Energy efficiency measures have been implemented across the new facility to further reduce emissions. With this expansion, Valeo strengthens its position in India’s growing EV market while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability and inclusive employment practices.
